an overview of the roaring twenties
The Progressive Era lasted from 1900 until 1920. This era had welcomed an active government, pursued economic reforms, and ultimately influenced the growth of America's economy. During this time, Presidents Teddy Roosevelt, Taft, and Wilson had approved many regulations that protected consumers, workers, and the environment. These progressive economic policies resulted in the growth and prosper of America's economy, and transformation into a world leader.
After the 20 years of prospering, many Americans requested a return to normalcy, and a riddance of regulations and policies. Unfortunately, the next three presidents were unlike the last, and believed in a minimal amount of government activity. Many believe that these presidents did nothing but help lead America further into the "Great Depression."

Pictures above depict: 1920s men's fashion, newly invented automobiles, a famous trumpet player (1920s was infamous for jazz music), an image of a party, a protest, and a couple of advertisements from products that essentially caused poverty. Many Americans became in debt because they bought products they couldn't actually afford, and would "pay later."
